After a beautiful refresh, The Wynnstay Hotel has reopened its Restaurant and Bar with stunning results!

The Wynnstay hotel has had a well needed refresh of the Restaurant and Bar areas, giving a more chic and modern atmosphere which compliments this popular Georgian hotel in Oswestry. Having being completely transformed over the last few months, and more to exciting changes to come in the future, this new development has seen over a million pounds worth of changes designed to enhance the historic character of The Wynnstay Hotel.

From remarkable bi-folding glass doors to fresh and modern furnishings, The Wynnstay is the newest ‘it’ place to be in Oswestry and the refurbishment solidifies the opportunity for the venue to play a growing role in the community life of the town for many years to come, including creating twenty new jobs across all departments.

The improvements do not stop here however! The bedrooms have also undergone a full revamp, with the final touches due to be made in the very near future and the brand new walk-in Coffee House is due to open this December, making The Wynnstay a fabulous place to meet loved ones for those all important catch ups.

Group Chief Executive Officer Kevin Charity said the Boston in Lincolnshire, based company has expanded steadily over recent years and established an enviable reputation for the role its properties played at the very heart of the communities they served.

“We’ve become a very people focussed business over the past four years, just constantly refining our Hospitality from the Heart culture. We’re focussed on looking at what we can do better and how we as a management team can serve our people – that’s been the key,” said Kevin

Anyone joining The Wynnstay Hotel team now had an excellent opportunity for advancement through the group’s industry-leading and award-winning InnSpire program, which encouraged members to rise to the next stage by gaining hospitality industry qualifications, he said.

Well renowned travel writer Nigel Heath and his wife Jenny enjoyed an impromptu winter break to The Wynnstay and found ‘probably the UK’s largest Advent Calendar’ on a trip twenty minutes down the road in Wrexham!
“Oswestry is a great place to stay for those who enjoy visiting National Trust homes and gardens because Chirk Castle and Erddig Hall are close by and Powys Castle is just down the road in neighbouring Welshpool.” said Nigel while writing about his visit.

Christ Birdsell has taken the lead of The Wynnstay and is heading the team as General Manager alongside his Wife Lucie who has the role of Deputy Manager.

“The Coaching Inn Group, which operates over thirty hotels and coaching inns in market towns across the country, has completely refurbished The Wynnstay and I am delighted to be its new General Manager,” said Chris.

Group Regional General Manager, Mark Chapman, said with over thirty years’ experience of running pubs and hotels, he was delighted that Chris and Lucie were now at the helm for the opening of a completely new chapter in the hotel’s story.

The team cannot wait for all our guests to see just how stunning the new refurbishment is, we have had many comments that the pictures do not do it justice and definitely recommend come to visit to see for yourself.

We have plenty more in store, so watch this space!
